Nathan co-founded Buffalo Board Riders after arriving in Vietnam in 2022 chasing adventure. After years exploring the country, he now focuses on planning trips, building partnerships, and making sure every experience runs smoothly.

If it's not happening in the water, Nathan is probably the one making it happen behind the scenes.

Eddie is the surf brain behind Buffalo Board Riders. With years of experience in the water and a passion for sharing surfing with others, he leads surf coaching, surf trips, and everything wave related.

Adventure Starts Somewhere

Buffalo Board Riders started with two mates from Queensland, Nathan and Eddie, backpacking through Vietnam in 2022 with no real plan beyond chasing adventure.

Discovering the Real Vietnam

What began as a trip quickly turned into something more. We found work in tourism and spent the next two years exploring parts of Vietnam most travellers never see — winding back roads, quiet coastlines, and small towns far from the usual tourist trail.

Epic Waves, Hidden Spots

Being Aussies, we naturally had our eyes on the ocean. The more we travelled, the more we realised something surprising: Vietnam has incredible surfing potential. The catch? The best waves were tucked away in remote spots, places you'd never find without a motorbike and a bit of local knowledge.

Taking the Leap

After a tough year in tourism, we reached a crossroads — find new jobs, move back to Australia, or back ourselves and build something of our own.

So we took the gamble.

Buffalo Board Riders was born from that decision: a place built around surfing, adventure, and the kind of travel experiences we wished existed when we first arrived in Vietnam.
